In 1916 Isuzu began in Japan being the Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering Co. They together with the Tokyo Electric and gas Industrial Co. to construct vehicles. In 1920 their very first vehicle was created, the CP truck. In 1934 they renamed the truck to Isuzu, taken from a name of a river. In 1949 the corporation adopted the name Isuzu as their brand name. Later on Isuzu joined up with GM and in 2005 Isuzu ends up being the world’s biggest producer of h duty trucks.
