Shock and strut failure on the Renault Kiger follows a predictable pattern in South Africa. The rear shocks are the first to go — most Kigers need a rear pair replaced between 60,000 km and 90,000 km, with the JHB pothole reality pushing that toward the lower end. The front struts last longer, typically 80,000-120,000 km, because the front suspension uses a larger MacPherson strut assembly with more damping capacity. By the time you're chasing a knock over speed bumps or watching the nose dive under braking, the OE-fitted Magneti Marelli / Tenneco units are usually well past their useful service life.
