Yes, and it's a real concern on the T5 and similar Drive-E petrol Volvos that use the wet-belt oil pump drive. The belt slowly sheds rubber into the sump, which clogs the oil pump pickup and starves the engine — exactly the same failure mode as the 1.0/1.5 EcoBoost. The fix is preventative replacement of the belt, oil pump and pickup at roughly 100,000-130,000 km (or sooner if oil changes were stretched or the wrong oil was used). Don't ignore a noisy oil pump or low-pressure light on a Drive-E petrol — by that point the damage is usually already done.
